The original seat of the Louisiana government and New Orleans Jail, and the site of the signing of the Louisiana Purchase. Located next to Jackson Square and the St. Louis Cathedral in the heart of the French Quarter. It is Louisiana's flagship state museum which exhibits over 300 years of Louisiana history. It has an outdoor courtyard and three floors of exhibits, with a second floor gallery overlooking Jackson Square. A great French Quarter venue for receptions of 100 to 500 guests, and dinners from 50 to a maximum of 80 guests.
